Obama Administration Threatens Texas

ObamaPlannnedParenthood_2Although Medicaid-dependent women don’t need to go to a clinic that kills unborn babies for medical care or contraceptives, abortion advocates, including the president of the United States, want Americans to keep the Planned Parenthood money flowing.

Texas is one of several states that defunded the fetal-harvesting Planned Parenthood. Under the state’s Women’s Health Program, however, women have access to clinics that provide medical care and contraceptives — all on the taxpayers’ dime. Whether Americans want to pay for these services is another issue, but pro-lifers among them definitely don’t want to pay for abortions.

Regardless, the Obama administration has threatened to sue Texas for defunding the abortion mill. From Life Site News:

“Longstanding Medicaid law prohibits states from restricting individuals with Medicaid coverage from receiving their care from any qualified provider,” said a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) spokesperson in a statement provided to the Texas Tribune. “Every year, millions of women benefit from critical preventive services, such as cancer screenings, that Planned Parenthood provides. State efforts to restrict women from using qualified providers puts these important health care services at risk.”

[Texas Health and Human Services Commission inspector general] Bowen’s letter pushes back against that argument, telling Planned Parenthood, “Your termination and that of all your affiliates will not affect access to care in this state, because there are thousands of alternate providers in Texas, including federally qualified health centers, Medicaid-certified rural health clinics, and other health care providers across the State that participate in the Texas Women’s Health Program and Medicaid.”

This is political, as the article points out. Abortion is not health care. It’s a procedure that kills voiceless and vulnerable babies, for the sake of convenience. But people who consider this procedure murder are required to pay for it. The least lawmakers can do is cut off the funding.

Abortion advocates shouldn’t worry. Women in the United States will always be allowed to kill their children.
