Why Donald Trump Chose to Speak at a Black Church Instead of the NAACP

I noticed that Donald Trump will not speak at an upcoming NAACP conference. Instead, he spoke to a very large, influential African American church in Detroit.

Trump knows that African Americans are a crucial voting block that cannot be ignored in such a tight race. Even only 10 percent of support from blacks could swing the election!

Trump chose a church over the NAACP because blacks attend church more than any other demographic. Black churches are the town halls of urban centers where Americans in the inner city socialize and exchange ideas. Inside of those town halls is the black pastor — still the most trusted person in the black community. What he says has tremendous weight!

That’s why, in only 20 days, CURE — the non-profit that I founded and run — will hold a major Black Pastor Policy Summit in our nation’s capital. So far, I am thrilled that more than 30 influential pastors will make the trek to Washington, DC to hear from powerful speakers about the dangers of big government. People like Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, and Walter Williams have spoken at this summit because they know, like Donald Trump, that black pastors hold tremendous weight in black communities.

For over 50 years, liberals like Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders held summits in black churches and devoted entire political debates on black issues. Through forked tongues, liberals have built a dark legacy by posing as the protectors of African Americans. It’s going to take a lot more than a single visit from a Republican or a conservative to rip apart this myth!

But if we love and value freedom — the very freedom liberals plan to eliminate by turning America into a Marxist state — we MUST NOT let liberals monopolize the very communities that have so much influence in our public policy.

Friend, freedom-lovers like you have stood with me over the years as we built a network of black pastors across the country. Now is the time to activate these brave men who risk so much to reject the liberal lies and preserve the freedom our country provides.
