Earlier this week we wrote about a New York Time‘s story on the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a group that legally represents Christians and their interests. The Alliance represented the plaintiff in Town of Greece v. Galloway, the recent U.S. Supreme Court case that upheld public prayer. Charisma News reports that the alliance recently sent a letter to the Tempe Union High School District about its decision to use a Planned Parenthood–promoted sex education curriculum.
A board member with ties to the abortion mill took part in the decision. In addition to the conflict of interest, the values are incompatible. Not only does Planned Parenthood promote and perform abortions, it promotes illicit sex among minors. From the letter (emphasis added)
It is unacceptable to our clients and to most parents for the District to accept the representation that because “everyone” engages in irresponsible sexual activity, our schoolchildren should be taught that such conduct should be embraced as acceptable. Our clients, as do most parents, want their children to be taught responsible and positive values, including abstinence, not destructive values that emphasize unrestrained and irresponsible sexual promiscuity and access to Planned Parenthood’s abortion mills after the near-certain result of such sexual promiscuity–an unwanted pregnancy.
Conflict of interest doesn’t begin to cover it. The ADF also mentioned a story we blogged about at BCN. The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona accused Planned Parenthood of intentionally withholding information about the rape of a teenage girl from law enforcement. “The counselor told them that they did not want the hassle of having to report the assault to law enforcement as they were a mandatory reporter.”
Tyler Kost, who impregnated the girl, raped four others after that. Aside from the abortions, why would parents pay to have their children exposed to such permissive values?
“Clearly, Planned Parenthood’s judgment when it comes to our children is not to be trusted,” ADF Litigation Counsel Natalie Decker said. “Any sex-ed curriculum promoted by an abortion seller that has more than once been accused of hiding rape in violation of the law is not one parents or school officials can trust as a framework for schoolchildren. Planned Parenthood has proven time and again that it cares about its own interests and profits far more than it cares about the health and safety of women and children.”
