CURE’s Star Parker will moderate a post-debate discussion on Friday, January 15, to provide a meaningful response to tonight’s GOP presidential debate. The event will take place at the Renaissance Charleston Historic District Hotel, 68 Wentworth Street, Charleston, at 10:30 a.m. The media are welcome to attend.
Participants include Rev. Derek McCoy, CURE’s National Clergy Relations Director, South Carolina state Rep. Samuel Rivers, Kenneth Battle, Board Chair of the South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs, Jackie Cissell, Charter Schools USA, George Dennis, Program Coordinator of the South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs, and Thomas Smith, Executive Director of the South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs.
“There is no better place than South Carolina to discuss if the Republican Party has solutions necessary to solve the problems affecting minority communities all across America,” Star said in a statement. “Whether it comes to race relations, poverty or education, we hope to see a substantive discussion about how best to move forward.”
