Abortion Advocates Won’t Like What These Governors Just Did

Despite a Texas grand jury indicting the pro-lifers who released a series of undercover videos that exposed Planned Parenthood selling the body parts of aborted babies (including something worse a tissue company did), pro-life politicians continue to do the will of the people who put them in office.

Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin recently signed two bills into law that block Planned Parenthood from receiving some tax funding. From the Washington Examiner:

Under the new laws, Planned Parenthood can bill Medicaid only for the acquisition cost of a drug plus a dispensing fee and can no longer receive any federal Title 10 money because it provides abortions. The group estimates that new measures will cost its Winsconsin clinics $7.5 million a year. Planned Parenthood operates 22 clinics in Wisconsin, three of which provide abortions, according to its website.

Walker signed the bills at Life’s Connection, a Waukesha clinic that offers alternatives to abortion. He said they move federal funding toward “less controversial providers.”

Pro-lifers have always called for defunding the abortion mill, but the movement was renewed after the Center for Medical Progress released the undercover videos.

Gov. John Kasich of Ohio also defunded Planned Parenthood. He blocked a grant for about $1.3 million to organizations that either kill or promote the killing of unborn babies. As of this writing, Gov. Kasich is still on the GOP presidential nomination campaign trail.

In related news, Gov. Matt Bevin, who closed down an unlicensed Planned Parenthood clinic in Kentucky, announced that his state has sued the organization.
