President Barack Obama knows black voters don’t seem that excited about Hillary Clinton. They turned out in record numbers to vote for him. Will they come through for Clinton?
Eddie Glaude, a professor at Princeton University, didn’t like the president’s message to blacks who voted for him.
At a recent Congressional Black Caucus event, the president said, “There’s no such thing as a vote that doesn’t matter. It all matters. And after we have achieved historic turnout in 2008 and 2012, especially in the African-American community, I will consider it a personal insult, an insult to my legacy, if this community lets down it’s guard and fails to activate itself in this election.”
Those remarks annoyed Professor Glaude.
“Instead of a series of rational arguments from the president…to black voters, we get, you know, don’t insult me,” he said on MSNBC. “And I just find that condescending. And I know I’m going to get in trouble for it. I just found it condescending.”
I’m sure he’s not the only one.
It is infuriating that the President presumes one should vote as he says simply to fortify himself. As usual with B.Obama it is only about him, not what is best for those that put him in the position he is in. Will he ever actually care about those he takes for granted, and will they ever understand the lie they have been sold?
