This Democratic Governor Vetoed a Bill to Protect Children from Genital Mutilation and Sterility

If parents won’t protect their children, who will?

Children are vulnerable and impressionable, easily caught up in social trends and peer pressure. They need guidance, and they need protection from decisions with long-term consequences — consequences they cannot possibly understand.

Leftism has given itself over to the genital mutilation and sterility of children. Who could have imagine the country would be this debauched?

The Kansas legislature tried to protect children. Lawmakers passed the Help Not Harm Act to ban so-called “gender-affirming care” for minors. If these children grow into adults who want Frankenstein-like procedures done to their bodies, it’s their prerogative. But not now.

Governor Laura Kelly, a leftist, has other ideas. She apparently believes children have enough maturity and insight into the human condition to have themselves rendered permanently sterile.

UPI News reported that the state Senate passed the bill with enough votes to override the veto and “could have enough support to do the same in the House.”

House Speaker Dan Hawkins said the legislature stands “ready to override her veto to protect vulnerable Kansas kids.”

“As we watch other states, nations, and organizations reverse course on these experimental procedures on children,” he said in a statement, “Laura Kelly will most surely find herself on the wrong side of history with her reckless veto of this common-sense protection for Kansas minors.”
