Renaissance Woman Productions produced a video several years ago about slavery reparations. Star Parker, founder and president of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education, is featured in this documentary.
As the documentary notes, people spoke out against slavery for the same reasons we speak out against abortion. “Abortion law is the violation of life,” Star said. “And slavery was the violation of personal liberty.”
The concepts of freedom and individual rights in the Declaration of Independence are incompatible with human bondage. The same applies to killing unborn babies. This founding document acknowledges “self-evident” truths outside ourselves that come from our Creator — the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Star believes our country will have to settle the abortion issue in a similar way we settled the slavery issue.
