The Bethel County school district in Ohio apparently cares nothing for the privacy and safety of girls. Schools allow boys pretending to be girls access to girls’ restrooms and changing rooms.
America First Legal (AFL), a legal firm founded by Steve Miller, President Donald Trump’s deputy chief of staff and Department of Homeland Security advisor, filed a complaint with the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights over the school district’s “transgender” policy. From AFL:
AFL recently secured a major victory against five Northern Virginia school districts after filing an administrative complaint to the Department of Education regarding similar policies.
Previously, AFL sued the Bethel Local School District over its transgender bathroom policies. The School District has repeatedly defended its unlawful conduct and is currently fighting against students and parents in the federal Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals to uphold it.
President Trump issued an executive order barring such “transgender” policies in government schools. Governor Mike DeWine signed a bill into law last year that bars government schools K-12 from allowing boys to use girls’ restrooms, locker rooms, or changing rooms, and vice versa.
“By continuing to allow boys to use girls’ restrooms and locker rooms based on their ‘gender identity,’ Bethel School District is blatantly defying common sense, federal law, state law, and President Trump’s Executive Orders, said Ian Prior, AFL senior advisor. “If Bethel wants to continue to live in a make-believe land where one’s sex is just a guesstimate, it should do so without federal funding. It’s really that simple.”
