We have won a victory, but this is no time to rest. We dodged a bullet, but the battle rages on.
The Democratic Party is a fortress of evil, and though we’ve halted their progress for now, we cannot let our guard down. The fight for the sanctity of life continues. We must hold this new administration accountable. Their stance on life is weak; it does not honor the biblical truth that all life is precious. They must know that we will not rest until they recognize the value and dignity of human life.
This battle isn’t over, and there’s no time for victory laps. As long as states are trying to write child killing into their constitutions, we have a fight on our hands. During the election season, 10 states put child killing on the ballot. In seven states, they voted in favor of amending their constitutions to murder babies! Hear this again: seven states chose to legalize the destruction of innocent life. Thank God for the courage of Florida and South Dakota, which stood firm. [Ed: Voters in Nebraska voted to amend their state constitution to prohibit abortions after the first trimester with the exceptions of medical emergency, rape, or incest.] But that now gives us 33 states where child killing is the law of the land. The battle is still on.
We need to confront this culture head on and make them see that the killing of children is wrong.
Randall Terry and I ran for office for one reason: to fight against child killing by abortion. We believe the only way to combat this atrocity is with incendiary images, radical rhetoric, aggressive action, serious sacrifice, and verifiable victory with a readiness to fight now more than ever. This is a spiritual war, a battle for the soul of our nation, and God has called us to represent His Kingdom in this fight — not for an easy, comfortable life, but for righteousness and truth. The easy life doesn’t come until Jesus comes and establishes His kingdom here on earth. While here, we’re in a spiritual conflict cone that intensifies with each passing day.
Ephesians 6:10-11 tells us, “Be strong in the Lord and the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you may stand firm against the schemes of the devil.” We’re in a spiritual conflict; there is no time to lose. The forces of darkness are working tirelessly to strip away our liberties to erase the Judeo-Christian foundation of our nation.
But not on our watch. Not without a fight. Stand up for Christ. Engage in the struggle. Remember: true victory is found in Christ alone, not in any political party or charismatic leader. Our triumph rests in Jesus and in His Kingdom to come.
