About CURE

About the Center for Urban Renewal and Education

MISSION: Fight poverty and restore dignity through the message of faith, freedom and personal responsibility.

OBJECTIVE: Build awareness that a conservative agenda of traditional values, limited government and free markets is of the greatest marginal benefit to low-income Americans.

METHOD: Work in the media, on Capitol Hill and in poor communities to promote social policy that protects unborn life; and market-based public policy that transitions poor Americans from government dependency to economic independence.

Media Center: Provide daily internet blogs (BlackCommunityNews.com) and weekly television roundtable discussions (Inside the Beltway with Star Parker) that specifically target the black Christian community with alternative views on current events, politics, and headline news.

Clergy Center: Educate and serve our private CUREnet of conservative pastors who serve our nation’s at-risk, poor, and most vulnerable on congressional initiatives, public policy ideas, and current debates that affect their congregations and communities.

Policy Center: Publish quality research studies and white papers on key topics that impact poverty, such as personal retirement and medical savings accounts, housing and school choice vouchers, family stability, charity choice, criminal justice, labor law, and welfare reform.
