Between President Joe Biden calling Senator Chuck Schumer the “minority leader” to that viral on-the-lips kiss between Jill Biden and Doug Emhoff (VP Kamala Harris’s husband) to the heckling, the State of the Union address had plenty of fodder and blood-pressure-raising tales for everyone who watched or heard about the speech.
The gaffe-prone president didn’t disappoint and at times whispered and yelled his speech. After President Biden said that Republicans wanted to “sunset” Medicare and Social Security, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene called him a lair — loudly.
So how much did President Biden lie in his speech?
In her response to the SOTU, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that being a mother to three children has taught her not to believe every story she heard.
“From out-of-control inflation and violent crime to the dangerous border crisis and threat from China,” she said, “Biden and the Democrats have failed you. They know it, and you know it. And it’s time for a change.”
The president blamed inflation on disrupted supply chains during the pandemic and the war between Ukraine and Russia. What Biden didn’t blame were stimulus checks and government spending. Consumers demanded products during the pandemic with that extra cash.
Gov. Huckabee Sanders said law-abiding families are living in fear because of leftists’ attacks on the police. She spoke about the president’s weakness on the border and his refusal to stand up to Communist China. Watch the governor’s response here.
