Disney Vice President Says Disney is Discriminating Against Individuals Based on Race and Sex

America First Legal (AFL) accused the Walt Disney Company of hiring, training, and promoting individuals based on race, sex, and national origin. AFL filed a federal civil rights complaint in February with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

AFL claimed that Disney’s “Reimagine Tomorrow” website “strongly suggests” that race, color, sex, etc., are the only motivating factors in Disney’s hiring, training, and promoting decisions. AFL also said that Disney has a grant program for “Underrepresented Directors.” Straight white men need not apply.

While that matter is pending, a Disney employee has all but confirmed that Disney does, indeed, discriminate against individuals based on race and sex.

James O’Keefe, formerly of Project Veritas, sent one of his undercover operatives on a “date” with Michael Giordano, a senior vice president of business affairs and team lead at Disney. Giordano told his date, who is black, that “there’s no way we’re hiring a white male,” and that Disney has ways of around laws against discrimination.

Giordano, who has taken a leave of absence from the company and deleted his LinkedIn account, also said that Disney gives bonuses to executives illegally discriminating against individuals. He added that he has been denied promotions because of his skin color. He had more to say about skin color.
