Why We Don’t Need to Reform or Expand the Supreme Court

Now that we have a right-leaning U.S. Supreme Court, the Democrats want “reform.” They want to expand the court to supposedly “restore balance among the three branches of government,” according to Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon.

Yeah, right. Democrats want to pack the court, which would undermine the independence of the courts and jeopardize our constitutional rights. For example, Congress could pass unconstitutional legislation that would require a supermajority of the circuit courts or the Supreme Court to block.

Star Parker set the record straight on a recent episode of Straight Arrow News. In July 2024, “President Biden and Vice President Harris proposed term limits for the Supreme Court that would remove three justices of the court that were nominated by Republican presidents first and potentially to replace them by, of course, liberal judges like the one that Biden nominated and a Democrat Senate confirmed in 2022.”

Harris proposes to codify abortion on demand, which would override the religious and conscience rights of medical professionals who oppose killing the unborn.

“Harris also wants to rein in speech, in her words, that she deems misinformation,” Star said. Our First Amendment rights will be at risk if we allow leftists to pack the courts.
