Gun Grabbers Won't Like This Lt. Governor's Message to Christians

gunfreezoneAfter the July church shooting murders in Charleston, South Carolina, a black pastor in a neighboring state took action to defend his congregants. Pastor Melvin Clark of Shelby, North Carolina, decided to have 10 members trained and armed. Just in case.

According to news sources, the Oregon murderer, Chris Harper Mercer, asked the people he killed to state their religion. If they said Christian, he shot them in the head. If they didn’t respond or stated a different religion, he shot them in the leg. It sounds like he hated all religious people. Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, a Republican from Tennessee, believes Christians are a target and should arm themselves.

From the Washington Post:

“The recent spike in mass shootings across the nation is truly troubling,” wrote Ramsey, the speaker of the Tennessee Senate. “Whether the perpetrators are motivated by aggressive secularism, jihadist extremism or racial supremacy, their targets remain the same: Christians and defenders of the West.”

He continued: “While this is not the time for widespread panic, it is a time to prepare.” Then, he added: “Our enemies are armed. We must do likewise.”

Investigators have said little publicly about Mercer’s motives. Several eyewitnesses relayed accounts that Harper specifically asked people whether they were Christians before shooting them.

Previous stories of school shooters targeting Christians have gained widespread attention, most notably two girls killed in the Columbine High School shooting in 1999. Initial reports about the circumstances surrounding their deaths were later questioned.

Lt. Gov. Ramsey has detractors, of course. Liberal politicians and mainstream media support “constitutional” rights to homosexual “marriage” and killing babies. What about the constitutional and fundamental right to bear arms?

For the record, there is nothing “un-Christian” or unbiblical about self-defense or using guns to do it.
