Pro-life Christians considering crossing the aisle in November should remember this: Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota, Kamala Harris’s running mate, has not been friendly to parents who seek to guide their children’s upbringing or to your religious liberties.
Star Parker set the record straight about the “coach” on Straight Arrow News.
“The Catholic League of Religious and Civil Rights reports that Walz signed legislation excluding Christian universities with statements of faith from Minnesota’s post-secondary enrollment option program,” Star said. “This program allows high school students to enroll at local colleges at no cost to them and enables the students to receive both high school and college credits.”
Walz, like most leftist politicians, definitely was not friendly to churchgoers during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. Do you remember how all those politicians restricted church gatherings to 10 people but allowed stores (including the Mall of America in Minnesota), casinos, bars, and restaurants to open at 50 percent capacity? That’s Tim Walz.
Walz also is not friendly to unborn babies. He signed legislation that codified a “fundamental right” to kill them without limits on the gestational age of the baby. The legislature also repealed a previously required 24-hour waiting period after an informed consent process before abortions.
And there’s more.
“In April 2023, Walz signed a bill turning Minnesota into a transgender sanctuary state,” Star said. “The law gives state courts temporary jurisdiction over any child in Minnesota who has ‘been unable to obtain gender affirming health care.'”
Parents in custody disputes are out of luck. Unless both parents agree to protect their child, the custodial parent can bring their child to Minnesota for harmful drugs and possible mutilation surgery, and the out-of-state parent has no recourse in Minnesota courts.
Harris and Walz are extreme, and they don’t care about your children or your religious freedom. You do not want to give a man like Walz more power than he already has.
