Did people take the “China virus,” also known as COVID-19, as seriously as they should have in January and February? You know what they say about hindsight.
But leftists in media and politics will take any opportunity to try to make President Donald Trump look bad. Representative Nancy Pelosi said the president called the virus a hoax and didn’t act fast enough earlier in the year to mitigate the spread of infection.
Pelosi apparently forgot about her walking tour of Chinatown in San Francisco on February 24. Speaking of not taking the disease seriously, she walked around without a mask and encouraged people to visit.
Turns out, that was a bad idea.
But after the virus spread across the U.S., Pelosi was among the chorus of people heaping blame on a president they’d previously called a racist for acting too early.
President Trump tweeted the video of Pelosi uttering those fateful words about Chinatown. Shockingly, a fellow liberal — journalist Chris Wallace — called out her hypocrisy on a Sunday morning talking-head show.
“If the president underplayed the threat in the early days, Speaker Pelosi, didn’t you as well?” Wallace said.
