Harassed Christian Baker Jack Phillips Asks the Supreme Court to Protect His Rights for a Second Time

The harassed Jack Phillips, the Christian baker from Colorado, recently submitted his opening brief to the U.S. Supreme Court, asking justices to protect his right to operate his business in a way that is consistent with his faith.

A lawyer calling himself Autumn Scardina and pretending to be a woman asked Phillips to use his artistic talents to make him a custom cake celebrating his “transition.”

Scardina was well aware that Phillips was already in litigation after the Colorado Civil Rights Commission sued him when two homosexuals complained that Phillips declined to make them a custom “wedding” cake, although the men could have bought any cake on the shelf.

The high court found in Phillips’s favor in 2018, ruling that the commission showed hostility to his faith.

Scardina harassed Phillips to the nation’s highest court.

Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), the baker’s legal counsel, said that 23 states, six state legislators, and free speech groups filed amicus briefs in his support.

According to ADF, Scardina also asked Philips to make a custom cake of Satan smoking marijuana to “correct the errors” of his thinking.

Harassment.

Phillips prevailed at the Supreme Court once before. Here’s to hoping he does so again — in the name of religious freedom.
