Big city elected officials do not want an influx of illegal aliens.
After all that talk about being sanctuary cities, they knew they were safe and far away from the problem. Talk is cheap; reality is expensive.
Now they’re feeling the heat, and guess what. Blue city mayors don’t want illegal aliens, either.
Lori Lightfoot, outgoing mayor of Chicago, doesn’t want them in her city. Well, not that many. Leftists like her merely wanted to virtue-signal and declare themselves a haven for foreigners who have no respect for U.S. law.
Lightfoot “beseeched” Governor Greg Abbott of Texas in a letter on Sunday to treat illegal aliens with the “respect and dignity they deserve” and not send any more of them to Chicago. She accused him of a “lack of consideration or coordination in an attempt to cause chaos and score political points,” which, she claims, “has resulted in a critical tipping point in our ability to receive individuals and families in a safe, orderly, and dignified way.”
The same way illegal aliens cross the border with lack of consideration and coordination? What they’ve done to ranchers and their property hasn’t caused chaos? People in border towns want the influx to stop. Since the federal government doesn’t seem interested in doing its job of enforcing immigration laws, border states have taken matters into their own hands.
Chicago, Chicago! Welcome your new citizens.
“I know by your actions that you either do not see or do not care about the trauma these migrants have already faced and continue to suffer under the humanitarian crisis you have created,” Lightfoot wrote. “But I beseech you anyway…”
What about the trauma the influx has caused to law-abiding American citizens down south? Talk about a “humanitarian crisis”!
Lightfoot said the crisis is a national problem, not one of state against state and city against city. Again, ask besieged Americans in border states.
No shelter for illegal aliens bused to big cities? No resources? Get used to it. Lightfoot is right. It’s a national problem, so red-state governors are spreading the love!

When their big ideas and ideological pipe dreams turn into chaos that threatens an entire nation and culture, “progressives” can be counted on to assume their traditional default positions: yell foul when it comes back to bite them, and blame someone else — or everyone else — for the problems they’ve caused.
They never learn and they never change,. and worst of all, they destroy whatever they lay hands on.
