Retired Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney warned during an interview with Fox News of a possible threat on the United States, focusing on the growth and danger that ISIS poses on the Western world.
He spoke of the need of an aggressive air campaign on Iraq and Syria to eliminate ISIS as well as the need to resupply Kurds “as they are our best allies out there next to the Israelis.” He additionally stated that Free Syrian Army should be supported.
When asked about the ISIS threat “in our backyard”, he referenced the missing Malaysia Airline jet MH370 stating that, “On the seventh of September, a major news network and publishing network are going to put out a book. It is going to be earth shattering of what’s happening and what happened. The fact is we may even see a 9/11/14 MH-370 surface again. We should go to DEFCON 1, our highest state of readiness and be prepared as we lead up to 9/11.”
When asked to go into further detail of the publication he stated that, “I can’t give you any more than what I’ve just said. But it is going to be extremely important and America should take notice. We are less safe today than we were six years ago.” He then again warned that the United States should raise its terror level threat immediately ahead of the anniversary of 9/11.
