Women who compete in the Olympics and Paralympics from now on will face fair competition. The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) has updated its policy and banned men from competing on their teams.
Men competing against women in sports is more than a matter of fair competition. It’s a matter of privacy and safety.
“The next critical step is for the USOPC to implement sex screening protocols,” the Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS) wrote on X. “This will ensure that women are guaranteed equal, fair, and safe opportunities in athletic competition. ICONS will not rest until every girl, at every level, in every sport has access to fair competition and privacy in locker rooms.”
President Donald Trump signed an executive order in February to block federal funding to schools and educational programs that allow boys and men to join girls’ and women’s sports teams or use their restrooms and changing rooms.
The Independent Women’s Forum’s (IWF) said in a press release that the USOPC’s policy change was a course correction for the 2028 Olympic games, a “quiet move” that sets the record straight: women’s sports are for women, and does not include men in drag.
“Though details are light and much remains to be clarified, the USOPC’s quiet rollout doesn’t diminish the seismic impact,” said Victoria Coley, vice president of communications at IWF. “By barring male athletes from female categories, the USOPC is affirming a basic truth: sex—not self-identification—defines competition. Women took the blows and raised their voices to bring us to this moment—paving the way for a future where her game and her legacy are truly protected and celebrated.”
We must continue fighting to restore sanity and common sense and not allow a fringe and perverse ideology to control us.
We must help women fighting for fair competition in sports. Join us in this fight and help spread the word!
