Power, Poverty, & Politics Podcast: Protecting Life is an American Value

In this episode of Star Parker’s Power, Poverty, & Politics podcast, she talked about U.S. Supreme Court case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, concerning a Mississippi law that bans abortion after 15 weeks.

We’ve been hearing discussions comparing Roe v. Wade to Plessy v. Ferguson, in which the high court held that racial segregation laws didn’t violate the Constitution and created the “separate but equal” doctrine.

“Surveys show that the nation is evenly split in our attitudes toward abortion,” Star said. “Some are saying that because we’re so evenly split, maybe [getting] abortion back to the states is a good thing, because then we could have a national discussion.”

We all know what’s happening in the womb, Star added. Women understand pregnancy is a natural process. Abortion stops this process. Star said she had four abortions and knew the whole time that she was going to stop a natural process.
