What Congress Did Should Make Planned Parenthood Nervous

ObamaPlannnedParenthood_2“Recently released videos implicate Planned Parenthood Federation of America and its affiliates in potentially unlawful transactions involving fetal tissue.”

With those words, the U.S. Congress began its “request” (PDF) to the abortion mill for documentation of accounting and funding sources. The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform noted that Planned Parenthood reported about $1.3 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2014, $528.4 million of which came from us — the taxpayer. The committee also ordered Planned Parenthood to brief members on these issues “no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 28, 2015.”

Last month, the Center for Medical Progress began releasing a series of videos, recorded without the subjects’ knowledge, of Planned Parenthood and StemExpress casually discussing and haggling over the sale of aborted-baby body parts and callously picking through aborted babies.

Unfortunately, a woman in the United States has a legal right to kill her own unborn children for convenience, but it doesn’t follow that taxpayers should contribute to the horror in any way — whether to fund birth control instruction or pay the clinic’s light bill.
