What the Trump Administration Just Did to Obama’s ‘Transgender’ Restroom Directive

The last significant piece of news about the previous president’s “transgender” restroom directive was last March when the Trump administration essentially revoked it.

Obama claimed Title IX (Education Amendments of 1972) required government schools to allow boys pretending to be girls, and vice versa, into opposite-sex restrooms, changing rooms, and other areas where students have an expectation of privacy.

The Trump administration withdrew a request to a federal court to limit the scope of a nationwide injunction against the directive.

Now comes the news that the Trump administration will no longer investigate “discrimination” claims from students barred from entering facilities designated for the opposite sex. Title IX prohibits discrimination based on sex, not “gender identity.”
