You Won't Believe Why Planet Fitness Revoked This Woman's Membership

640px-Planet_Fitness_Ypsilanti_TwpPlanet Fitness has revoked the membership of a woman who dared complain that a man dressed like a woman was using the women’s locker room.

Back in the day, the man would have been arrested.

As the homosexual lobby continues to deny Christians (via government power) the right not to service homosexual “weddings” without fear of losing their livelihoods, expect more such stories. An excerpt:

Yvette Cormier, a 48, said she was walking into the Midland Planet Fitness locker room last Saturday when she saw someone “dressed like a man.”

The person was wearing a wig and “a little bit of blush,” but was “huge” and appeared “very manly,” Cormier told ABC News today.

“I just stopped right there in my tracks,” she said. “It was a man for sure.”

Cormier, who had been a Planet Fitness member for two months, said she went to the front desk immediately. The man at the desk told her that Planet Fitness policy is “whatever gender you feel you are, that’s the locker room you’re allowed to go in,” she said.

“And then he said, ‘We’ve had lots of complaints about him but we told him to go change in a stall,'” Cormier said.

Cormier said if she’d known that Planet Fitness allowed men pretending to be women to use the women’s locker room, she wouldn’t have signed up. She brought up the issue of safety. As I mentioned in a post last week about a defeated “non-discrimination” ordinance in Charlotte, North Carolina, the special rights of homosexuals are now more important than the religious freedom, modesty, privacy, and safety of everyone else.

Rather than dealing with the situation in a way that wouldn’t inconvenience the majority of customers, Planet Fitness rejected the business of a woman offended by the absurdity (and perversity) of a biological male who feels like a woman invading women’s space. What say you, feminists?

McCall Gosselin, Planet Fitness’s public relations director, said the company is “committed to creating a non-intimidating, welcoming environment for our members. Our gender identity non-discrimination policy states that members and guests may use all gym facilities based on their sincere self-reported gender identity.”

So having a man in a place where women change clothes isn’t intimidating? And about the subjective “self-reported gender identity,” it seems objective standards don’t matter anymore.

Gosselin said Cormier’s membership was revoked because of the “manner” in which she complained, not the complaint itself. Yeah, okay. I hope Christians and anyone else offended by this let their money do the talking.

  1. I’ll be switching to Gold’s Gym this week. Thank you.

  2. More decent women should protest against this travesty. We will see how many customers Planet Fitness is willing to lose to gain one…

  3. I was seriously was considering joining Planet Fitness but not now. I am so grossed out by their “policy” there is NO way I would step through doors.

I will post this article at our church which has about 20,000 regular attendees. They can tell their friends and so on and so on… hopefully soon the planet fitness in our town will be sent back to it’s mother ship.
