What the Tea Party's Doing in Ferguson

I wonder why this isn’t a widely reported story. Members of the Tea Party, which advocates reduced government spending and lower taxes, went to the racial-rioting hot spot of Ferguson, Missouri. They didn’t go to protest the police or the protesters. They went to spend money at local businesses and encourage others to do the same. They’re calling it a “buycott.”

Bill Hennessy, member of the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition, said “It’s been through a tough time in the last couple of weeks. It’s an area that has been going through tough times, actually for a about a decade and the last people need is for businesses to start pulling out.”

Good for them. It makes you wonder whether people who looted businesses and destroyed property considered the long-term effects of their actions.
