The homosexual lobby is once again bearing down on a Christian business owner for exercising her First Amendment religious freedom. The march toward cultural degeneracy continues.
The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) represents a Christian who owns a flower shop. She refused to provide services for a homosexual “wedding.” Not only would this be a violation of her faith, there’s no such thing as a homosexual marriage. But courts have declared that marriage as we know it no longer exists. Judges essentially have created new laws, a new definition of marriage that no culture has ever recognized.
American business owners, Christian or otherwise, shouldn’t be forced to provide their labor for events they oppose.
“In America, the government is supposed to protect freedom, not intimidate citizens into speaking and acting contrary to their faith under threat of severe punishment,” an ADF attorney said. “Plenty of other florists are willing to provide flowers for same-sex ceremonies, yet the state attorney general insists on going after not only her business, but her personal assets as well. It’s nothing more than a blatant attempt to strong-arm Barronelle into surrendering her freedom and livelihood.”
Ironically, the person suing the owner was a long-time customer. This person must have known she was a Christian. Why ask her to do something she opposed? I believe they target Christians with the intent to either destroy the business or revel in watching owners cowed before government power. Christians must keep fighting this. That’s why organizations like ADF are vital.
Our precious freedom of religion faces a barrage of attacks now that courts have created homosexual “marriage.” The God of the Bible declares homosexuality an abomination. Any Christian celebrating this sin violates his faith and God’s commands.
It is completely out of my ability to understand why these people just don’t go to another florist? It is tantamount to harassment. It is freedom OF religion not freedom FROM religion.
We all remember when the claim was what went on in the privacy of your home was no one elses’ business. Gay marriage was no one else’s business. They lied. They were working up to the point where if you don’t participate in their sad ceremonies and affirm their sad lives, you lose your business.
