In just one day, supporters of Dr. Ben Carson scored a major victory over an ultra-liberal organization that had smeared Dr. Carson as an “extremist” who appealed to hate groups.
Responding to “intense criticism,” the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has removed Ben Carson from its so-called “extremist” watch list, while still criticizing Dr. Carson for his outspoken defense of traditional marriage.
In a statement on its website, the SPLC even apologized to the potential 2016 GOP presidential contender:
In October 2014, we posted an “Extremist File” of Dr. Ben Carson. This week, as we’ve come under intense criticism for doing so, we’ve reviewed our profile and have concluded that it did not meet our standards, so we have taken it down and apologize to Dr. Carson for having posted it.
As Western Journalism reported a few days ago, the celebrated neurosurgeon, best-selling author and conservative commentator had been labelled an “extremist” by the SPLC because “right-wing and hate groups” supported his stand against gay marriage.
In an appearance on Fox News’ “O’Reilly Factor,” Dr. Carson discussed the SPLC’s flip-flop after a flood of outrage hit the Center for its inclusion of the soft-spoken Ben Carson on its watch list.
By clicking on the video above, you can see the “Factor” segment in which Dr. Carson thanked the many people who spoken up in his behalf.
