Don't Hold Your Breath for 'Pretend You Are A Christian' Assignment

Christianity in government schools violates the “separation between church and state,” but Islam doesn’t?

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) reported on a teacher at a government school in Wisconsin who e-mailed students about an assignment: Pretend you are a Muslim. Students would be asked to write a five-paragraph essay on “struggles” they’d face being a Muslim here in the U.S.

A more enlightening assignment is what females in particular would face in Muslim countries. Or what Christians of any sex or race would face in Muslim countries.

But it’s easy to demonize overly tolerant America. The irony. From the ACLJ (emphasis added):

That’s not an assignment. That’s Islamic indoctrination.

Even worse, the students have been forced to watch “documentaries” and do other in-class “work” to prepare them.

The district superintendent said a similar writing assignment was given on Hinduism, but not Judaism or Christianity.

According to the ACLJ, the same district instructed students that conservatism was “the political belief of preserving traditional moral values by restricting personal freedoms” and liberalism was “the political belief of equality and personal freedom for everyone, often changing the current system to increase government protection of civil liberties.”

Unbelievable. I’ll bet those Christian business owners who face losing their livelihoods for refusing to celebrate perversion would disagree.

Now imagine a “Pretend you are a Christian” assignment. I’d encourage my child to discuss what those business owners are dealing with now that homosexuals are well on their way to securing special, extra-constitutional rights above our fundamental and enumerated constitutional ones. But what’s the likelihood of such an assignment in your typical government school?

Christians, if you can, if you’re able, homeschool your children or send them to Christian schools.
