300 Men March Against Violence and for Accountability

The most pressing problem among blacks isn’t “racism,” violated civil rights, or whatever mainstream media are harping on at the moment. Family instability is far and away the biggest issue among blacks. Too many children grow up without the benefits that come from an intact family, including a resident father to love, protect, and provide for them.

Media-hyped incidents like the Michael Brown and Freddie Gray shootings generate more finger-pointing. Mix in the ginned-up outrage against the Confederate flag, liberals have performed a sleight-of-hand that downplays racial crime disparities and plays up rare incidents like the Charleston church shooting for political gain.

Black Americans should be more outraged over young black men killing young black men and others. They should be righteously indignant every time white liberals even hint that they have less moral agency or that “racism” made them do it. The civil rights movement removed government barriers and raised blacks to first-class citizenship, and that requires first-class accountability. No excuses.

A group called 300MenMarch has issued the call to accountability:

We hold ourselves accountable for the successes and failures in our community by looking within to provide permanent answers and lasting solutions.

When we recognize, identify, or discover a problem, we are obligated to recognize, identify, or discover a solution to that problem.

Acknowledge that ALL LIVES MATTER; no matter the race, religion, gender, profession,
socio-economic status – we advocate for ALL victims of violence.

Recognize the humanity in all; we focus on the goal of positive change.

Individuals make up this movement. However, egos must be minimized in order to address conflict and society’s challenges, which affect all of us.
