“If you wanted an FBI investigation,” Senator Lindsey Graham told the Democratic lawmakers during the Judge Brett Kavanaugh hearing, “you could have come to us. What you want to do is destroy this guy’s life, hold this seat open, and hope you win in 2020. You’ve said that not me.”
He said to Kavanaugh: “You’ve got nothing to apologize for.”
Sen. Graham said he voted for Justices Sonia Sotomayer and Elena Kagan and told Democrats he would never do to them what they’re doing to Kavanaugh. He called it the most unethical sham since he’s been in politics. The Democrats knew about the accusation and held it.
“You want this seat? I hope you never get it.”
He had more to say, and it’s a thing to behold.
Trump-supporting conservatives were pleasantly surprised by the senator’s display of righteous indignation, since he’s not exactly a big supporter of the president.
Blistering statement from Lindsey Graham is as strong a denunciation of this process as I’ve ever heard.

Lindsey Graham’s words won’t be soon forgotten. That was powerful. That was needed. No more games. This is a street-fight now.
