Appeals Court Upholds Injunction Against Biden’s COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate for Federal Employees

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit upheld a lower court’s nationwide preliminary injunction against President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for federal employees, who faced termination if they refused.

The court stated that it has jurisdiction to hear the employees’ pre-enforcement challenges. From Liberty Counsel:

Biden announced September 2021 that more than 3.5 million federal workers were required to undergo vaccination, with no option to get regularly tested instead, unless they secured approved medical or religious exemptions.

Feds for Medical Freedom, which represents more than 700 border patrol agents, pilots, diplomats, firefighters, contractors, and other Americans, filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration on December 21, 2021, seeking preliminary and permanent injunctive relief from “enforcing or implementing the Federal Employee Mandate and the Contractor Mandate.”

Requiring individuals to get vaccinated in order to keep their job is an infringement on their bodily autonomy — something leftists seem to support when it comes to killing babies in the womb.

By now there are legitimate concerns and questions about the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine. Drug companies developed this so-called vaccine fast. Many individuals are hesitant or opposed to the vaccine due to concerns over potential side effects, the speed of development, and the politicization of the pandemic.

This court’s decision and others hopefully will encourage more open and transparent discussions about the vaccine and the pandemic. But maybe not.
