America’s Health and Human Services: Friend or Foe of Life?

From the campaign trail to the midterm rallies, President Donald Trump promised America we would get tired of winning. During his remarks to pro-lifers at the January 2018 March for Life, Vice President Mike Pence also talked about winning, rejoicing that life is winning as abortion numbers decline. There is one group, however, that is not winning under President Trump’s administration – babies whose moms are Black.

The nation’s number one abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, has long targeted Black moms and their babies. Anyone who has examined abortion in America for longer than a few minutes will confirm the targeting, recognizing the surgical clinic locations, coercive marketing, and the implementation of Planned Parenthood founder’s Negro Project.  In fact, The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has done little to protect this most targeted and vulnerable group, though they state HHS is the government’s principal agency responsible for doing so. Instead they continue to fund the single largest group that has targeted Black babies since Roe v. Wade was decided. No matter how many federal and state laws the organization breaks, it routinely and consistently receives more than a half billion taxpayer dollars each year.

Some in the pro-life community had hoped HHS officials in the Trump administration would hit the ground running in enforcing the laws that govern Medicaid and Title X, the two vehicles under which abortionists are getting government funds. This was especially true after the disappointment of Congress’ failure to defund Planned Parenthood. When an opportunity arose to effect some changes earlier this year, disappointment quickly followed as HHS chose to uphold the Obama-era status quo on abortion industry funding. Though the Title X law as enacted in 1970 states that “None of the funds appropriated under this title shall be used in programs where abortion is a method of family planning,” Trump’s HHS has taken no steps to enforce this law.

After announcing a forthcoming rule change that would categorically bar Planned Parenthood from receiving Title X funds, HHS still chose Planned Parenthood as a primary Title X recipient in 2018. While reasonable minds might accept the notion that the new regulations would not be implemented until the 2019 funding cycle, pro-lifers who have followed HHS’s pro-life rhetoric under the Trump administration expected that, at the very least, one or more of the organizations that aid women in choosing life would have been a 2018 grantee. We were wrong.

It is well documented that abortion sprung out of the loins of eugenicists, segregationists, and population control enthusiasts. President Richard Nixon made that clear in his oval office conversations about population controlling the little “Black bastards.” Because President Trump challenged the Black community to give him a chance, it is not unreasonable to expect his administration to address the genocide occurring in America through abortion. It is not unreasonable to request that Planned Parenthood and other eugenicists who are leading the genocide charge be investigated and held responsible.

Perhaps it is time to abolish the ill-conceived Title X Program and reallocate those funds to assist in repairing the damage the population control enthusiasts have heaped on women and babies.

  1. In Los Angeles County, Black infants are three times as likely than White babies to die before their first birthday. Black expectant mothers nationwide more than twice as likely to die during childbirth than White women. Abortion industry allegedly targets the Black community. All of this is terrible news for the next generation.

  2. Regarding our “trusted” law-makers, there are wolves in sheep’s clothing & wolves in wolves’ clothing. The latter are actually easier to spot. Meanwhile, each mother – to – be must be told how precious is the baby inside of her, AND there are options to abortion.

  3. Perhaps it’s time Trump’s HHS Secretary did a spring cleaning at HHS. One can’t help but suspect that it’s full of Obama-era employees hired by the likes of Kathleen Sibelius, who just loved Planned Parenthood.
