Robert Woodson, a black conservative activist, was one of the guests on Bill Walton’s show discussing the New York Times’ “1619 Project,” a series of articles that purports the true founding of the country didn’t begin with the Declaration of Independence in 1776. It began when the first slaves arrived in 1619.
These leftists argue that the American Revolution was fought to preserve “slavocracy,” and that the country rose to prominence of the backs of blacks.
A group called the 1776 Project was created to counter what it calls anti-American propaganda. Woodson leads the project. He and Ken Blackwell, a senior research fellow at the Family Research Council, discussed both projects on Walton’s show.
