“The heartland still loves Dr. Ben Carson…”
Will he run or won’t he? That’s what Dr. Ben Carson’s supporters want to know. He’s already said he’d consider running, if Americans really wanted him to. Dr. Carson won a Colorado straw poll in July, ahead of Sen. Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin. Governor Bobby Jindal, Rick Santorum, Governor Scott Walker, and Sen. Rand Paul. He won another poll, a small one in New Hampshire. From the Washington Times:
“Add the New Hampshire Young Republicans straw poll to a growing list of evidence that grass-roots Americans in key primary states believe Dr. Carson is the best choice for the Republican presidential nomination,” says Vernon Robinson, campaign director for the National Draft Ben Carson for President Committee, an independent group with $8 million in donations and 17,000 volunteers waiting in the wings poised with “clamor kits” for the potential candidate’s fans.
“We know conservatives support Dr. Carson and want him to run. We know he can win the nomination and the general election. The only question that remains is whether he will answer the people’s call and enter the race,” Mr. Robinson says.
The retired neurosurgeon and author of the bestseller, One Nation: What We Can All Do to Save America’s Future, recently formed a political action committee. He told the Washington Times the committee was set up to explore and investigate, and that he’s “definitely a step or two closer than we were a year ago.”
