I have a dream, said Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1963. He dreamed that his children one day would be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Unfortunately, leftists do not share that dream.
“There have been major advances in racial equality since 1963 — the Civil Rights Act of 64, Voting Rights Act, Fair Housing Act, and the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1967 Loving decision that struck down bans on interracial marriage,” Star Parker said on Straight Arrow News. “But many progressives have abandoned Dr. King’s dream and substituted a form of discrimination they call ‘equity,’ and they have vastly expanded the size and reach of government.”
Joe Biden signed executive orders mandating that federal agencies continue judging individuals by the color of their skin. But Congress passed the fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act, which abolishes the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) bureaucracy in the department.
“Since a June 2023 Supreme Court decision that significantly limited the use of race status in college admissions,” Star said, “several American companies have begun rolling back their DEI policies, and they should. Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, confirmed such policy changes…on the 24th of November 2024.”
Now that Donald Trump will return to the White House, those of us who deplore racial discrimination in government have an advocate. Goodbye, DEI?
