Is COVID-19 Really Affecting Black Americans Disproportionately?

Columnist and radio show host Larry Elder asked the question. Is COVID-19 really affecting black Americans at disproportionate rates?

“It is a fact that blacks are more likely to contract the coronavirus,” Elder said. “It is also a fact, that the reason for this has nothing to do with racism, let alone institutional racism, or structural racism, or systemic racism.”

So, what’s going on? Black Americans are more likely to have preexisting conditions and to be exposed to the virus. Elder highlights the reasons black Americans are more exposed.

Elder asks why the media don’t care about other disparities among blacks, such as crime. He even brings up reparations and O.J. Simpson! The video below has news clips throughout.
