A Federal Judge Agrees With Louisiana — Biden’s Title IX ‘Transgender’ Changes are Unlawful

The U.S. Department of Education issued final rules in April that codified the Title IX “guidance” issued early in the Biden administration to expand the definition of the word “sex” in anti-discrimination law to include sexual orientation and “gender identity.”

Concerned parents in every state are alarmed by this, but only red states are committed to doing something about it. Several red states filed lawsuits against the administration, including Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Texas.

The new rules mean that boys will have access to girls’ restrooms and changing rooms — places where they expect privacy. The administration eventually will codify rules that will destroy girls’ sports teams. Dr. Cade Brumley, Louisiana’s superintendent of education, advised school districts in his state not to comply with the new regulations.

One judge has made a determination about the Title IX changes. According to Louisiana’s attorney general, a federal court has issued a preliminary injunction in the case against the Biden administration, “agreeing that the rule is unlawful.”

This injunction prevents the new rules from going into effect pending further review by the district court.

These illegal new rules would have applied burdensome requirements on nearly every school, college, and university in Louisiana and across the nation. This would have deprived women and girls of the equal educational opportunities they struggled for decades to secure, and cost states billions of dollars to implement.

“This a victory for women and girls,” said Attorney General Liz Murrell. “When Joe Biden forced his illegal and radical gender ideology on America, Louisiana said NO! Along with Idaho, Mississippi, and Montana, states are fighting back in defense of the law, the safety and prosperity of women and girls, and basic American values.”

The state contends that the changes also violate the First Amendment rights of students and teachers.
