U.S. Attorney General William Barr made the case before a congressional committee on Tuesday for the government to send federal troops to stop anti-police rioters’ violence and destruction. He said “violent rioters and anarchists have hijacked legitimate protests.”
If the state would come in and keep the peace in the streets and protect federal buildings, the federal government wouldn’t need to send reinforcements. The AG said federal marshals have a duty to defend the courthouse in Portland.
The federal government must act.
Ken Blackwell, advisory board member for Black Voices for Trump, recently went on Fox News to react to the AG’s testimony. The role of government is to protect property and people.
“If in fact you don’t stop this drip, drip, drip of crime, you create not only a debilitating environment for your safety forces; you in fact create environments of opportunities for criminals.” We’ll see more criminals coming to those defenseless cities. This is a coordinated effort to destroy the rule of law, Blackwell said.
