Obama Claims No 'Military Solution' for Iranian Nuclear Program

ObamaimmigrationPresident Obama stated in an interview with Israel’s Channel 2 to be aired Tuesday evening that a “military solution” to thwart Iran from creating nuclear weapons would “not fix it”.

Obama stated in the interview that “even if the United States participates” in a military solution that “it would temporarily slow down an Iranian nuclear program but it will not eliminate it” and that, “I can, I think, demonstrate, not based on any hope but on facts and evidence and analysis, that the best way to prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapon is a verifiable, tough agreement.”

Ahead of Obama’s interview, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that Israel must be self-reliant when it comes to its security against a nuclear Iran. He stated, “When speaking of Israelis’ security I rely first and foremost on ourselves, and proof of this is the agreement emerging between the world powers and Iran.”

He added that a deal between world powers and Iran on its nuclear program would “pave the way for Iran to atom bombs” and that the relief of sanctions would become “money it [Iran] can continue to arm our enemies with high trajectory weapons and other arms, and also arm its war and terror machine, which is acting against us and the Middle East, and which is much more dangerous than Islamic State’s terror machine, which is also dangerous.”

The deadline for a final deal is set for June 30. Last week several Iranian officials reported that optimism in reaching the deadline.
