Pastor Calvin Barlow: ‘Homosexuality is not a biblical pro-creation design’

Pastor Calvin Barlow of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee, is one of the men who participated in the National Baptist Fellowship of Concerned Pastors Press Conference, which you can view in its entirety here.

The pastors spoke to the media about the American Baptist College in Nashville inviting a “married” lesbian bishop to speak at the school’s annual Garnett-Nabrit Lecture Series. From Pastor Barlow:

“As a local pastor who has supported American Baptist College, I am very troubled by the statements of President [Forrest] Harris that have appeared in print media. I believe a Bible college misrepresents its God-given mandates when it affirms a position that is anti-Scripture. Homosexuality is not a biblical pro-creation design. Yet I firmly believe that we must love, respect, and value all persons regardless of their sexual preference. Thus, as Christians, we are challenged to protest the civil rights of all persons, without denying the authority of God’s Word.

“It is my prayer that the college board of trustees would rethink its position and do what Joshua said, “for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.'”

  1. Our children and grandchildren, today, are already “indoctrinated” with the ‘belief’ that homosexuality is an ‘accepted’ and acceptable lifestyle. You are simply “homophobic” if you disagree.
