To Gun Grabbers We Say, Never Again

The reason pro-Second Amendment Americans are suspicious when liberals talk about gun control is fear of confiscation. If we remain silent as Democrats propose more gun regulations, our silence could lead to the government taking guns from law-abiding citizens.

Do you think it’s a far-fetched idea? Regardless, we must keep resisting efforts to make it harder for Americans to exercise their Second Amendment right.

Criminals break the law. That is the nature of a criminal. Laws restricting gun ownership do not stop criminals.

Never one to let a tragedy go to political waste, however, President Barack Obama went on the air yesterday and started talking about gun control, as if any law would have stopped the Oregon murderer from shooting people. From the Washington Times:

An outraged President Obama weighed in Thursday night on the side of more restrictive gun laws, a position many Democratic lawmakers support.

“This is a political choice we make — to allow this to happen every few months in America. We collectively are answerable to those families who lose their loved ones because of our inaction,” Mr. Obama said before turning his fire on the National Rifle Association and other gun rights groups.

“We need more guns, they’ll argue, fewer gun safety laws. Does anybody really believe that?” he said. “There are scores of responsible gun owners in this country. They know that’s not true.”

Here’s a reasonable assumption, Mr. President. If someone else in that classroom had been carrying besides the murderer, the casualties probably would be lower. How is it law-abiding Americans’ fault that a thug shoots up a classroom?

Black Americans concerned for the safety of their families say Never Again will we allow the government to take away our guns or otherwise restrict us from defending ourselves.

In 2013, the Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE) held a press conference at the National Press Club to speak out against gun control legislation. The full conference below:
