Star Parker, president and CEO of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education, recently spoke at Calvary Chapel’s Come Back California 2022 conference.
And her message is strong.
Star said she was a believer in the lies of the left: that her problems were someone else’s fault, that America was so racist she didn’t need to mainstream, and that she was poor because others were wealthy. She was on welfare and abused the system. She had abortions. But something changed. Star shared her fascinating religious and political conversion story.
Star also thanked Calvary Chapel for remaining open during the COVID-19 lockdown. Star said she couldn’t understand why other churches — the body of Christ — didn’t keep their doors open, when people were afraid and alone.
She touched on more cultural issues and how the government’s values conflict with biblical truth. What is God’s role? What is government’s role? These two things are separate. There are so many good lessons in Star’s talk before this body of believers.
