What This Congressional Committee Panel Just Revealed About Planned Parenthood

When Planned Parenthood couldn’t deny selling the parts of aborted babies, the abortionists denied making a profit on those sales and denounced a series of undercover videos as deceptively edited.

Now a U.S. House of Representatives committee panel might have uncovered proof of profit-making. From USA Today:

Under federal law, payments for transporting and storing fetal tissue for medical research is allowed only to cover expenses, not to turn a profit.

But the documents revealed by the House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives shows that at least one procurement business encouraged abortion clinics to advance biomedical research in a way that would help them make a profit. The panel also provided an image from an unidentified website that shows a drop-down menu where researchers can click on what types of organs and tissues are needed.

“This does not sound to me like tissue donation for research — this sounds like someone who wants to make money — a lot of money — selling baby body parts,” said Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., chairwoman of the House panel.

Lawmakers set up the House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives, part of the Energy and Commerce Committee, to investigate Planned Parenthood’s baby-parts selling operation.

The Center for Medical Progress (CMP), a pro-life group, began releasing a series of secretly recorded videos last summer that showed Planned Parenthood employees discussing the sale of body parts, and possibly admitting to performing illegal partial-birth abortions to get intact organs. In some of the videos, Holly O’Donnell, a former employee of a tissue company that bought the body parts, revealed what one co-worker did to an aborted baby boy to get his intact brain.

CMP founder David Daleiden and a colleague were indicted by a Texas grand jury for their role in the sting operation.

Life News reported that the select committee also revealed 1 in 5 baby-killing clinics were selling their body parts when Daleiden began releasing the videos.

“The release of those horrific videos last summer raised many questions about whether abortion clinics and middleman tissue procurement businesses were profiting from the sale of baby body parts, organs and tissues,” committee member Rep. Marsha Blackburn said.
