Where Are the Watchmen?

I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth. – Isaiah 62:6-7

Bishop Aubrey Shines asks, where are the spiritual leaders in the country to speak on cultural issues? Believers have a biblical mandate to impact the nation and the culture. Shines said that in the last several years, a majority of leading spiritual voices have never addressed topics that are “literally impacting our nation.”

Do church leaders, for example, focus more on entertainment instead of challenging members to impact the culture?

  1. Church built upon fun, entertainment? Could not help but recall that “church leader” Jeremiah Wright extolling vehemently: “Not God Bless America, but God Damn America!” The former, thank God and Greyhound, president’s “pastor(?)” for decades!

    That “church” appears, in nearly all respects, to have been built on HATE. How much of that, at least, ill-advised rhetoric/blasphemy has inculcated those black kids in places like Chicago, Detroit, etc., with enough hate that black kids killing other black kids is the new moral norm?
