You Don’t Have to Go to Venezuela to See Socialism — Go to Compton

Star Parker, founder and president of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education, has a message for all who believe the lie of the left. You don’t have to go all the way to Venezuela to see the crisis that is socialism.

Just go to a place called Compton in southern California. Star said the government in such inner cities controls everything, including health care, education, housing, economic issues, jobs, and wage controls. A city like Compton is the result. In fact, go into any Congressional Black Caucus Member’s district, she said, and you can see the effects of socialism.

Star was caught up in the welfare cycle and criminal and drug activity. But something happened to change all that. How does Star’s personal story tie in to socialism? Watch the clip.

  1. For at least six decades–long before there was a Congressional Black Caucus–Compton has had its trials in maintaining a vibrant and productive community. There have been (and remain) problems with poor leadership at city hall, but the people (particularly the clergy) have worked tirelessly to improve the image of the city and the prosperity of its residents.
