Last week, Politico accused Dr. Ben Carson of lying about applying to West Point and receiving a full scholarship offer. Dr. Carson maintains that he never said he applied to the school nor claimed to be accepted. He also said he never claimed to have received a full scholarship. In fact, he stated in his book, Gifted Hands, that he could afford to apply to only one school. He applied to and was accepted into Yale.
After a backlash, Politico made changes to the story and added an editor’s note.
In a rare display of temper at a press event, Dr. Carson called out the media for double standards and hypocrisy.
