One More Destructive Thing Obama Is Determined To Do Before He Leaves Office

Barack_Obama_playing_golfPresident Barack Obama is determined to exert king-like power and create laws to reward foreigners who’ve entered and/or remained in the United States illegally, despite his role as executor of laws.

Earlier this month, a federal judge upheld an injunction against his plan to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens through executive order. A coalition of 26 states moved to stop the president from ignoring our checks-and-balances system.

But he’s trying to push through a policy that’s both unfair and harmful to American citizens.

Though the court stated that the president doesn’t have statutory authority to defer deportations, he’s asked the U.S. Supreme Court to rule otherwise. The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) has filed briefs in the case in opposition to the executive order.

The ACLJ said that our immigration policy needs to be fixed (enforcement would be a start), but an edict from the White House isn’t the way to do it. An excerpt:

This case is of great national importance, but the Obama Administration is wrong to say this is about immigration policy. This is about the Constitution and fundamental pillars of our republic – separation of powers and federalism – intended to protect our liberties and freedoms.

The President is not a king and impatient presidents don’t get to rewrite the law when they don’t get their way. This is foundational to our country’s entire system of governance.
