WATCH: Alveda King Calls for Spiritual Leaders in Charlotte to Do This

Dr. Alveda King recently appeared on Fox News to talk about the riots in Charlotte, North Carolina. Niece of a man who advocated non-violent protests — Dr. Martin Luther King — Alveda King said this isn’t about race; it’s about anger.

She cited Acts 17:26, where Luke wrote that God has made “every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth” from one blood.

“So we actually can be brothers and sisters, if we work on it.”

Fox News played the clip of the brother of Keith Lamont Scott, shot and killed by police after he reportedly refused to drop his gun. He said that all white people, including cops, are devils. The police officer who killed Scott was black. Charlotte’s police chief, who is black, said the shooting was justified.

There’s a difference between protesting and rioting, Dr. King said, and she asks that spiritual leaders in Charlotte “come forth outside of the four walls of the church…and call for peace, for justice, but let it be righteous justice,” not angry looting and killing.
