Here’s What Sen. Sessions’s Former Staffer Said About Evidence of ‘Racism’

William Smith, who used to work on Sen. Jeff Sessions’s staff, testified on his behalf before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Smith pointed out the inconsistency of praising Sen. Sessions for helping black Americans, then criticizing him for his political views on other issues like immigration. Smith reminded the committee that enforcing immigration laws is not out of the mainstream.

Smith also said he doubted the people personally attacking Sen. Sessions on the panel before his have ever spent 30 minutes in the same room with the senator (excluding time spent at the hearing), let alone 30 minutes talking to him.

Smith has known Sen. Sessions for 20 years and hasn’t seen “the slightest evidence of racism, because it does not exist.”

He also called out liberal lawmakers. Listen to the rest of his testimony.
